BIHARINATH – in the middle of the greenery, the hills of Bankura

The name of the place is Biharinath hill. The highest hill in Bankura district. About 1460 feet high. It is part of the Eastern Ghats. Laterite is surrounded by red soil and a forest of Sal trees. Biharinath is also called the Araku Valley of West Bengal.

How to reach: Biharinath can be reached by bus from Kolkata via Asansol, Madhukunda.

You can take a train from Howrah to Asansol or for Adra. From Adra to Madhukunda. From there you will find the trekker to Biharinath directly.

And, if driving is your hobby, there is no problem with the road. Biharinath is only 230 km from Kolkata. Kolkata to Biharinath via Durgapur Expressway, Raniganj, Mejia, Saltora.

Where to stay: Biharinath has many small and big hotels and food facilities. Before going on a weekend with family, it is best to book a room to stay.

What to see: Biharinath will be mesmerized by the hills and the surrounding natural beauty. There is an old Shiva temple called Biharinath Dham at the bottom of Biharinath hill. You can trek to Biharinath hills. There is a beautiful place called “Amjharna” while climbing Biharinath hill. Also, Sushuniya Hills, Joychandi Hills, Garhpanchkot, Baranti, Panchet Dam, and Maithan Dam are all within a short distance. You can enjoy boating on the Damodar River.
