Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Lataguri
  • Pickup: New Mal Junction Railway Station (NMZ)
  • Transfer to Lataguri: Check in at the hotel upon arrival.
  • Evening (Optional Tour): Visit the Medhla Watch Tower is a popular viewpoint in Gorumara National Park, offering sights of elephants, deer, and rhinos.
  • Medhla Watch Tower for a scenic view of the forests and possible wildlife sightings.
  • Overnight Stay: Lataguri
Day 2: Gorumara National Park and Local Sightseeing
  • Early Morning (Optional): Jeep Safari at Gorumara National Park (at own cost).
  • Highlights: Wildlife safari through the dense forest where you may spot Indian bison, Asian elephants, and rhinos.

After Breakfast: Begin the local sightseeing tour:

  • Murti River: A picturesque spot by the river, perfect for nature walks and photography.
  • Jhalong: Near the Indo-Bhutan border, famous for its dam and hydroelectric project with beautiful surroundings.
  • Bindu: Known as the last village of West Bengal, located near the Indo-Bhutan border, famous for its dam and scenic beauty.
  • Samsing: A quaint village surrounded by lush tea gardens and forests, ideal for nature lovers.
  • Suntalekhola: A serene area with beautiful landscapes, perfect for trekking, nature trails, and bird-watching.
  • Rocky Island: A unique riverbed with large rock formations, great for adventure and photography.
  • Laliguras: A scenic area often known for rhododendron blooms and forest views.

Day 3: Lataguri Surroundings Or Jayanti (Buxa)

Option A: Exploring Attractions near Lataguri

  • Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary: Located close to Gorumara, it’s known for its watchtower that provides great views of elephants, Indian bison, and various bird species.
  • Paren: A peaceful hamlet with mesmerizing views of the Himalayas and Bhutan hills.
  • Chalsa: A small town surrounded by tea gardens and forests, known for scenic beauty and tranquility.

Option B: Transfer to Jayanti for Buxa Fort and Tiger Reserve

  • Travel to Jayanti: Check into your accommodation in Jayanti.
  • Jayanti Mahakal Caves: An optional trek to these caves, revered as a sacred site.
  • Buxa Fort: A historic fort with connections to the Indian freedom struggle, accessible through a scenic trekking route.
